Amanda Wheaton is an otherwise healthy 23-year-old female 2-day old history of sore throat with associated fever, headache, and tender cervical lymphadenopathy. Physical exam reveals elevated temperature 101.5 F, posterior pharyngeal erythema with mild to moderate tonsillar enlargement and tonsillar exudates.
